Jelly Belly gave birth to a healthy adorable colt, early morning of May 10, 2012.
ADOPTION FEE: $425.00 (was $600.00) if placed in her new home ASAP
I purchased her in foal from the auction, note said "Due Soon", very helpful. If you know anything about this mare, please let us know any info is helpful.
Her hooves were terribly long & have improved greatly. She is still a bit shy but is coming around with myself and my daughters, not mean, just a bit scared. I would say that she has maybe been rough handled over her life, as she tries to come up to greet you, but is hesitant at first. But she does learn quickly. She is easy to catch, and she is coming around more with me, and has now learned what treats are! She nickers for her breakfast & dinner.
AAPLH ARRIVAL DATE: April 2012
HOUSING: She is currently in a stall each night or nasty days and is outside in electric fenced area during the day. Doesn't mind a stall, enjoys having quiet time in the barn. She has a chicken for a friend that will just not leave her side. She is a very protective mum to the colt as expected.
HEALTH: Mare is healthy. She has received her Vaccines since being with us and the booster shot.
LAMENESS: None Her hooves were very long (probably hadn't had a trim for 2years we think and were starting to pull & twist. But after our excellent farrier did his majic they are looking really good now, a couple more trims and they will be back to normal.
FUTURE: She would make a great pet or cart horse eventually. Gets along well with the little colts. Loves the attention of being brushed & gentle handling.
SHE TIES, LEADS, EASY TO CATCH, STANDS WELL FOR GROOMING, VET. TRAILERS VERY WELL.
She really is a sweet girl with a wonderful personality. Is getting to love attention more each day. Was fairly shy when she first arrived, but is slowing coming around and easier to catch with trust.
PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING HER A PERMANENT LOVING HOME SHE IS NOW ABLE TO BE MOVED AS HER COLT IS WEANED FROM HER. We will not be offering up the colt for adoption at this time, he is so adorable, I may just have to keep him for our barn mascot..
PLEASE E-MAIL US TO SET-UP AN APPT TO MEET JELLY BELLY OR IF YOU NEED MORE INFO ON THIS LOVING TINY MARE!
