Shadow was born here at AAPLH, so exciting news.  Our new colt arrived early morning on Sat. August 27th, 2011.  Very healthy little colt and doing well, he is already very friendly and absolutely adorable!

He has really bonded with me and loves attention, walks right up first one to greet me.
He will stand there to be groomed. Loves people and getting fussed over for attention & rubbed & scratched. Learning to lead. First one to the gate to greet you!
Is very interested and curious, which is a great sign.  Hard to get pictures of him as he wants to kiss the camera..


HOUSING: He is currently outside 24/7 with a shelter. Doesn't mind being stalled at night.  Lets them beat up on her. Likes wearing his blanket.  Once we start his weaning he will be moved in with the other 2 younger colts.

HEALTH:  He is healthy & sound. Eating free choice hay supply.  Still nursing from mom.

FUTURE: Would make a great pet, kids mount. Gets along well with Geldings, Mares and Donkeys. Loves the attention of being brushed & gentle handling.  Best time to adopt them is when they are so young and can start all sorts of small ground work with him and develop that special bond.

IS EASY TO CATCH, STANDS WELL FOR GROOMING and VET.

Shadow really is a sweet boy with a wonderful personality. Loves attention.
