Star will be adopted out as a Companion Only horse. He is not sound or rideable due to past injuries.
HOUSING: He lives outside 24/7, wears a blanket in the winter. Doesn't mind a stall but is best for him to have continual movement by being outside.
HEALTH: Star is healthy & in good weight/condition. He is an easy keeper. Has had a previous allergic reaction to annual shots (see Note below).
LAMENESS: He cannot be ridden as he has a previous knee injury. He has a previously severed a tendon below the knee. You'd never know that there was an injury by watching him.
PREVIOUS TRAINING/HISTORY: He was previously ridden & very well trained in Dressage.
FUTURE: He would make a great pasture buddy/companion horse. Gets along well with Geldings & Mares. Loves the attention of being brushed & gentle handling. Seems to really like "Reign" (also available for adoption) as they came here together.
The previous owner has provided us with the following information:
UTD on Farrier (great for farrier)
UTD on Wormer including fecal sample completed.
UTD on shots (see note below on "Shots")
HE TIES, LEADS, EASY TO CATCH, STANDS WELL FOR GROOMING, BATHES, FARRIER, VET. TRAILERS VERY WELL.
Star really is a sweet fellow with a wonderful personality. He usually comes for treats when called. He gets along with mares and geldings, he is at the middle to bottom of the pecking order. He needs to go to a home that understands his issues. He is a great horse. He is a beautiful mover. His past history is he was very well trained in Dressage.
Note on Shots: Star about 3 yrs ago had an immediate allergic reaction to his annual shots. The vet was thankfully there, so from then on they are rotating the shots to determine which one it was as he had received a combined shot. This year he has only had Tetanus, so next year only Rabies
